Last evening I got a Linksys WRT54G router and as usual the set up did not work and the Wizard would give me no clue about what to do. I got lucky with the toll free support service of theirs. The guy (Prashanth) at the other end patiently guided me through the firmware upgrade (which I never would have thought would be necessary) and in about 45 minutes time he got the router up and running. I have a Dlink dsl (502T) with a BSNL broad band connection. The firmware version upgraded was to version 7.00.4 .
This is almost the first time that some equipment I bought was made to work within about 45 minutes of bringing it home. The wireless througput is excellent across walls, I can use it in all the rooms of my house and also in the yead to about 70 feet away ( I did not check beyond that).
Overall the router is a good buy.
